Genjin is the Japanese word for caveman. So it's a giant pun because it sounds like PC engine which is the name of the turbo graphics 16 in Japan which is where bonk got it start.

Once I bought SPLATTER HOUSE at a Salvation Army and when I opened the package, BONKS ADVENTURE & AIR ZONK was inside too! I was HYPED!! 😂

I design toys and collectibles. Usually movie licenses but sometimes video games. I can tell you that we’ve been doing more and more tin collectibles, things like signs or packaging/vessels with unique shapes. It’s cheaper than tooling for plastic mold and a lot cheaper than custom metal shapes to just bend the tin in creative ways. I can see this sort of thing happening again or becoming more common rather than less.

Your Japanese is pretty good. コレクション is usually an indicator that the game is a compilation of sorts.

This is an interesting cart too, thanks for sharing!

I was stationed close to Destin from 2001-2003. Nice.

I like that Bonk’s Adventure and Revenge aren’t just simple Gameboy ports, they’re very much different games.

Hudson had about 8 releases with this packaging, but they weren't the only ones to do so. ASCII also had a couple as I have the Mini Yonku one, which came with its own design and actually had Mini 4WD parts in it exclusive to the GB game.

There are no more than a dozen of games in the entire GB library that were released like this so even just seeing one is kind of rare.

Oh dude, Hudson released a series of other GB games on bandaid tin cans includjng Bomberman GB2, I believe. They all look awesome.

I collect both video games and tin boxes (unintentionally, I have a soft spot for them) so this looks really tempting! Fun game in a tin can? Yes please!

I picked up that GB Primitive Man Land cart for a literally 99 cents from a Japanese eBayer a few years ago though I still have no clue how to play it.

Poor Bonk. He is sorely underutilized these days, though I bet he, Chuck Rock, Joe & Mac, and GRAND DAD swap a lot of stories together in the Caveman Wing of The Old Forgotten Mascots Home.

The one you said I wish it was translated, the English is “ bonks revenge “

Reminds me of one of those buble gum tins from back in the day, or maybe a band aid box
