ERIC is a Beast in terms of these reviews, its in his blood, btw do a review to differentiate between TX, TX-L, VX, VX-L, TZ-G and the KAKADU

The whistling in Toyota Kenya Prados is now explained. Thanks. You did a very good explanation on the Fortuner cannibalism towards Prado when you compared it to other pick-up based 4×4s. Good understanding.

Excellent work, Erick.
I've lived with a yr 2013 1KD Fortuner since yr 2018. It was used in S.A and i would choose it over the Prado any day. Let me tell you Erick, the (reasonable) speeds i do with the Fortuner at certain corners, the Prado couldn't even dream of taking. Also add on the fact that the Fortuner is lighter than the Prado and smaller hence handles and maneuvers better.
Well done!

1GD before 2020 produced 177-184hp and 450Nm. After 2020, 204hp and 500Nm. Just a correction, great work Wokabi 🙌

Important correction: Those diff locks are very misunderstood and would be worth extra attention. In essence of the 2 cars you have here the Fortuner is more off-road ready because:
1. Putting it in H4 is equivalent to locking the centre diff in the Prado
2. It additionally has a rear diff lock.
Point 1 is where the confusion occurs and I would bet most drivers haven’t got a clue when their car is ready or not ready for slippery surfaces.

Between full time 4WD and selectable 4WD, I would pick the selectable. It's the exercise of control that is enchanting to drive. Koso Koso mingi at full time 4WD and automatic is for A--->B drivers. Probably my preferences are wild, minority and fanaticized but the things I would value most in order of priority are :
1. Manual 6-speed transmission
2. Selectable 4WD
3. 1GD-FTV 2.8L
4. Rear diff-lock
5. Center diff-lock
6. DAC
7. ESC
8. Skid plate

another thing i like about the 1gd ftv compared to the 1KD is that the 1gd is more silent and smoother especially when idling in traffic the 1KD can be quite irritating to the ears but the 1gd is quite silent and with the damping on the Prado and with closed windows its almost similar to a petrol.

How people pass up an X5, X4, X6 and the Q7 that's at the same price with the Prado and fortuner is interesting. You get more power, more fuel efficiency, more comfort, better safety, adjustable ride height, Premium everything including the finishing

I would take the Fortuner over the J150.The J 150 is popular with politicians. The Fortuner has an upper hand in my opinion
