The sound of Sauron's voice is brilliantly done. In a space like that, a normal voice would bounce around with echoes like in a cathedral. As a powerful spirit, even Sauron's voice is not bound by such menial constraints and travels unaffected to the ears and mind of the target, as he wills it. Preternatural and chilling.

Sauron didn't harm Azog because unlike thousands of other orcs, Azog is irreplaceable. Extensive battlefield experience marking some of the greatest victories of any orc host, tenacity, inspirational (to orcs), cunning, and absolutely merciless. Azog is to Sauron's reforming army as Aragorn is to Theodin during the Rohan excursion. A symbol of unity in purpose, resourcefulness, and leadership. Without Azog at the helm who would rise to fill his place as Sauron's commander? The answer, we know, is no one. And for over 70 years there was no great leader of orcs in Middle Earth until Gothmog of Minas Morgul who did not compare.

I love how at the beggining Sauron's just muttering the Ring verse to himself.

Very interesting. You can see the personality of Sauron fully. Azog shows up, Sauron tells him all is going well and his armies are coming along nicely and appoints Azog to lead his armies. Azog asks about Oakenshield; and Sauron moves; literally trying to turn his minion away from the subject and forcing Azog down the path Sauron wants him to go. However Azog is relentless; he reminds him that Sauron promised him his head. Sauron, not to be asked of anything, literally moves through him and tells him that death will come to all; going through the opposition.
Fascinating. What more do you need? <3

Azog is a truly badass orc, the way he talked to sauron is just badass, there’s no fear or anything I don’t even think the witch king talked to sauron like that, no fear what so ever

The fact that Sauron let's Azog speak to him in any sort of manner or tone of voice that isn't complete and total submission and terror is pretty cool.

Sauron is fully aware of how useful Azog is, he's one of the strongest, most intelligent orcs that's ever existed and a brilliant strategist and leader, so if keeping the Orc around comes at the cost of him mouthing off every once in awhile he'll just put up with it

This appartion of Sauron really scared me. Like no other horror movie that I watched before. The way they portryed him in this way, like a huge, monstrously powerful and without no face, reminded me immediatly about the feelings that Lovercraft give to me after reading his books. This was brilliant, I love it so much, because every time gived me the same felling I always come back and re-watch😆

they asked Benedict to speak the words backwards to make it more sinister

I was totally blown away when i first heard sauron speak in black speech. I sat up and felt it go right through me. Sinister and carries fear very well.
