Nintendo's 8-bit marvel was released in 1989 and paved the way for handheld gaming, finding its way into the pockets, satchels, and bum bags of countless on-the-go gamers all over the world. The Game Boy's library is packed full of classics. Nintendo mainstays like Mario, Link, Samus, and Kirby all made stellar and timeless appearances on its compact screen, the Pokémon franchise made its first steps towards world domination on the Game Boy, and falling block-simulator, Tetris, became one of those rare games that even your grandma has heard of, but we're not here to talk about those today. Here are 10 Hidden Gems for the Game Boy.

Gameboy is still an amazing handheld to this day!
It’s puzzle and pinball games are what really kept me playing and wearing out the batteries when I wasn’t busy trying to be the very best (like no one ever was) with Pokémon.

I just wanted to leave a comment here that your video is chalk full of actual hidden gems. So many of these kinds of videos put things like TMNT III, Trip World, Wario Land, stuff that is relatively well known. This is such a breath of fresh air to see some new games that aren’t covered frequently.

I loved Revenge of the Gator growing it. It's great to see it getting some love 😊

Mole mania was amazing when I was a kid. It was one of the 4 gameboys games my mother bought me, next to tarzan, pokemon yellow, and kirby pinball. Unfortunately I never ended up beaten the game.

Actually, one of the recurring "basic" enemies in the "Kirby" series bears a strong resemblance to the "Trax" tank, so you weren't too far off the mark.
Also, stumbled across "Amazing Penguin" when helping my at-the-time brother-in-law clean his house. He said I could keep it, and I had a decent amount of fun with it. Thanks for putting it on the list. :3

Kirby Pinball… Revenge of the Gator… Rollerball… those Hal Laboratory guys know how to make a good pinball sim.

08:18: I wondered what became of the kid in Gokiburi Buster. Glad to see he was inspired by the brave heroes who have their lives to save his neighbourhood.

My mom bought me a Gameboy when I was about 7 and she bought us Speedy Gonzalez and was the only game for a solid 2 years before getting Pokemon red and blue. Honestly the best platformer I've played and it brings nostalgia every time I think about the Gameboy

I was really happy to see Quarth get mentioned, I love the game and it's one of my favorite Game Boy games.
I never hear anyone bring it up, so I was excited to see it

I think Great Greed should defintely be on the list. When virtually my entire Gameboy game collection was thrown out by mistake in 99 it was by far the hardest game to replace of the ones I wanted back.

I tried to beat Faceball2000.

At the time, as its not specified, i presumed it was something like 100 levels, and while i remember there were codes to start later on (up to 30 i think), I realized a game winning run would require finding as many powerups as possible in earlier levels, to get to the later levels in the most powered up state possible.

After lots of scouting and having planned out my route, it was going swimmingly. I was up to the late 60s.. and.. the screen started getting dim.

I realized i couldnt even put fresh batteries in and there was nothing i could do.

I was never able to work up the motivation to tackle that chore again, it having taken something like 6 hours of tense play.

I'm not worried about moles, because I've got a few dozen Invisible Mole Detectors, and...oh shoot, I've been had...

Still, at least I've got my Magic Beans!

Although, with Faceball, it would have been more miraculous to have 16 friends with Faceball 2000 in the first place. (It is a fun game, but I never knew anyone else who owned a copy.)

Trax actually had a cameo as a regular enemy in Kirby Super Star.
