"If the Muslims in Middle-East had the choice between two states, secular or religious, they would vote for the religious and flee to the secular."

Shariah law in its purest form isn't followed in any recognised Muslim nation, because of the global minimum standards of human rights a nation is expected to uphold.

TLDR it's obvious that Sharia and personal freedom don't go hand in hand.

Sharia was intended to be "one size, fits and regardless of the changing times, circumstances & necessities of subsequent societies down the centuries.
If there's no scope of evolution or change and transformation in sync with the changing times, nothing will survive.
Evolution will make humanity understand this.
Till such time people learn to change & evolve.... other people embracing change will go on & progress in all aspects.
Those who don't want to change, evolve, transform & upgrade will be left behind in many ways - it's as simple as that

Law laid by almighty.... Such an outdated thought. Religion should be relegated to people's homes. Not in the legal sphere.

Thank you for addressing in a nocr and detailed manner. I am an Indian Muslim, and there is a way to think critically and reform the interpretation. That will be best possible approach, which will balance left wing and right wing of muslim countries. This is why i like The print, because it does journalism not like Godi media 🙂. Jai Hind.

The fear in the presenter is palpable, repeatedly having to ensure to the audience that he is quoting not giving an opinion.
