Definition of insanity, i have heard, is doing the same thing over and over and expecting dfferent results. The Leafs have failed miserably at the management level for NOT seeing the obvious that the "core 4" and the team in general are built for regular season success BUT put them in a physical 7 game series and they will lose 9/10 of the time. Credit to them for battling back vs Bs but tgat was Domi, Bertuzzi, Edmundson, and finally Willie when he returned.
Domi was their best player vs Bs. Edmundson was one of their best "D".
What shocks me is this: i have been a HUGE Shanahan fan since his days in Detroit. When Leafs hired him as Pres of Hockey Ops I thought FINALLY the Leafs playoff futility will end. I am shocked that Shanahan has been so blind or unwilling to acknowledge the obvious re: the Leafs "core 4" and their team make-up. That is a real shocker. Shanny, of all people, should know what type of grit is needed and to balance the superstars with He has failed in his role i feel.

Tre needs to tell Marner’s dad that he’s not being re-signed. Give us a list of teams you’d be interested in going to for the last year of your contract and maybe you can negotiate an extension with them. Same deal with Tavares, however salary will have to be retained in that case. Neither one of those guys should be a Leaf going forward.

Marner will soon realize that no other team is willing to pay him 10 Mil. No wonder he wants to sign with the Leafs.

If you asked Shanahan 10 years ago whether he should keep his job if they only won one playoff round in the next 10 years…he would have laughed and said absolutely NOT..that would be loser material…yet here we are and it doesn’t sound like he’s getting fired…but he should be!

Darren Ferris was the worst thing to happen to Marner. Marner's rep was hurt when DF(darrenferris/dickface) spouted that his client took a discount on entry deal(honestly) and was not going to do so with RFA deal. Leafs' brass should have told him to F off right there and then. Make him sit ala Willly. What fanbase can appreciate that. It messed up Bryan McCabe after he got the bag and got driven out of town after. Lets not let history repeat itself. Dubas is gone and DF ain't taking brass out to back of the woodshed again...plz. We need clutch performers in playoffs. Hyman and Verhaeghe are so clutch now and that is sad. Gilmour and Clark were clutch but they only ever won 2 rounds too. Playoffs are not easy.

Howard Ballard f**ked the Leafs culture and has never been the same since. As a Hab fan, I've always embraced the rivalry and friendship with those fans. The "Field of Dreams" comment was so honest and hilarious.

The sad part about this season was the defense and goaltending was great in the playoffs. They couldn't score. We need players who can play playoff hockey.

1-22 power play, Keefe is a great coach eh Ray? Stop making excuses for management. There’s enough blame to go around everywhere. You have to shake things up this has been going on too long now

Leafs does not have balance, the 4 guys on offense are already figured out by the entire league on what to expect from them in the playoffs, Leafs need to have AM and Nylander as the core pieces and build a strong team around them, thats the only way to get to the next level and a goalie too, must have a solid goalie that does not get hurt often.

when shanahan was first hired and as long long time leafs fan going back to the harrold ballard days i was so excited i thought finally here is a guy who played in some of the dirties brutal hockey in his era who knows how or what it takes to win a hockey game and what it takes to win the playoffs and the cup. finally a guy who can bring fortitude to this team because of his experience throughout his career. all we get is a dud, while growing in high school and watching hockey night in canada my friends and i looked up to this dude and all the great players in his era who played with grit, heart and passion and you could see it was for the love of the game and you can see it in their eyes and it wasnt about money. unfortunately now its about money. what a shame what a waste. i dont know what outcome this friday' meeting or announcement will bring. I'm getting close to retirement and the last time leafs won the cup was when i was born and all i can say is I DONT GIVE A CRAP! No doubt it will be the same fecal crap over and over and over again.

We always say Leafs have no defense, but their biggest problem in the playoffs is lack of scoring given 40 mil upfront. That's really odd.
