Only thing you are checking is the hub run-out. Unless you rotate the housing you can't check the straightness in this way.

All that facy equipment and you dunno how to use it right.
You need to take the rear end out and with the wheels on the ends, rotate the differential housing axle tube asssembly in the fore and aft direction of vehicle, while measuring any difference in distance from wheel to wheel.
As long as the diff isnt rotating, in the lengthwise direction of vehicle, the wheels will spin at the same distance apart at any fixed point.
What happens is one will track straight and the other will crab, making a sometimes slightly violent shifting of weight as the vehicle favours one wheel or the other.
