You can program the button you use to raise the head (1, 2, or3) to lower and slide back the reel to bump the beans onto the belt as the head raises so no piles at the end. There are so many little set up/ button programming tricks you can do with the reel and hydo flex it will blow your mind. Once you know it, it’s easy.

Cole, I’m really glad you had two combines available because you were able to keep going with the Deere after the Case broke down. It’s really interesting to hear your initial impressions of the Deere - I’m grateful to the equipment dealer for letting you demo the combine so we can see what it’s capable of doing.

Nice honest first impression on the S790 Cole even though it is 6 years newer. Seems like your getting the hang of the John Deere settings and Kudos to Chet Larson for the help for sure. You can clearly see the Beans popping over the head in today's video, I'm sure that's why The Larsons run the Crary Air bars on both of their combines Saves a bunch of header loss for sure. It really is great that Van Wall has set you guys up to try and compare the Red vs Green on your farm. As always Thank You for bringing us along on your Journeys, See you tomorrow hopefully!

Again, it is so nice that you have each other to keep the farm running. While Cooper works on one, to get it back in the field, Cole is out there knocking out the beans. Nothing is stopped or lost. I think of the John Deere and the Case like Ford and Chevy. They are both the best there is, and each one has something better than the other. Just need to choose what works best for your needs.

Thank you Van Wall for providing this combine. I will never buy a combine, but this was very informative and good PR for you, Deere and those tires.

Hi Cole, glad to see you are getting a chance to run a Deere Combine. If you want to have a different layout on your main screen, you can select the Main menu button (lower right green squares) and select Layout Manager, then you can choose what you want on your Run Pages. Some are Preset from the factory, but you can create your own custom ones from many of the features. The program will give you different sizes of the boxes you can choose from to build up your Run Page. And you can also move them around to suit what you want. Don’t be afraid to have a play with it. You can also touch on some of the boxes on the display, and they will open up to show even more information. Hope you enjoy the rest of your time with it. And yes, a Crary wind system is a must for what you guys harvest. Good luck with the rest of your harvest, from Australia. 👌👍🙂

What I see in this area of SW Kansas is that the farmers who are either green or red and no in between, they are more rigid in their farming methods. They stay with what is familiar and don't want to mess with crossover info. Other farmers tend to find the fit that works best for each task. If the service is about the same in regards to repair and diagnostics capability they don't care about the color but what best serves their operation. Great video!

I was worried about Cooper’s hair getting caught and pulling him in the machine. Be careful.

Hey Cole,
Thanks for the thorough walkthrough!

We run a MacDon draper, which is basically identical to your Case. You can adjust the draper belt speed using the little lever on the head's main hydraulic block just to the left of the feeder house. There's a little access panel you can flip up.

It's sure good to see Mama corn star. She doesn't get near the credit that she deserves for the operation.

Two things you need to carry on your combine:
1. A leaf blower.
2. A infrared thermometer to look for hot bearings and belts when you take a break.

Cole you do a great job in educating people on farming. My brother runs our family farm and he is amazed at how young you are and the amount of knowledge you have.
