Beautiful voice, Sarah... to go along with the beautiful sunrise. Donner Summit is scheduled to receive 6' of snow this coming weekend... to go on top of the base of 30" of packed and 50" of powder that they have. .... it's a doozie of a storm! Stay warm and dry!!!

The flower with green fuzzy leaves and yellow flowers is sows ears. It does have a pleasant scent. One trick I use when doing public showers if I don’t have shower shoes is I keep a microfiber camp towel, small size, to stand on in the shower. It dries fast. Very light weight. Donner pass is famously bad so you are wise to not risk it. So awesome you had a great place to stay the night to ride out the storm.

Thanks so much for posting this fine video! I love this section of the PCT..! I've hiked it quite a few times. But a few years ago I was caught in a late summer (August) blizzard that lasted three days in the Granite Chief Wilderness. I was so unprepared, I had to bail at the Coldstream Canyon Trail cut-off and descend to Lost Trail Lodge, not realizing I had been only a mile south of a wonderful trailside hut that exists along the PCT near Tinker Knob. At any rate, it was an epic adventure! Looks like your hike was too! I so enjoyed your wonderful video scenes taken along the trail. Great job!

0:17 You have a nice voice! Regarding your microspikes, what is your opinion of how well microspikes handle traversing steep slopes? Would you have preferred hiking crampons even though you would have to take the crampons off when the trail was clear?
