Some species of jellyfish are indeed considered biologically immortal. The jellyfish species known as Turritopsis dohrnii, or commonly referred to as the "immortal jellyfish," has the remarkable ability to revert its cells back to an earlier stage of development, essentially starting its life cycle anew.

When faced with unfavorable conditions such as aging, physical damage, or environmental stress, the adult Turritopsis dohrnii can transform itself into a polyp, a stage similar to its juvenile form. Through a process called transdifferentiation, the jellyfish's cells can change their structure and function, allowing them to become young and start growing again.

This incredible regeneration ability theoretically allows the immortal jellyfish to bypass death and potentially live indefinitely, as long as they can successfully navigate their life cycle stages. However, it's important to note that they can still be vulnerable to predation, disease, or environmental factors that may impact their survival. 🎐🌊👶🔁
