got the same size dog. I bought a good choice dog crate, painted black, and put strong L brackets to go from the inside of the crate to the frame of the bike. then laid down a metal square to connect it on the inside. put a single ply sheet of quality plywood in there and velcro'd a comfy rubber mat for the dog. Cut a hole on the top so he can stick his head out and smile at people as we pass them.
