I am a new team manager to a team of 21. Sometimes it's soooo hard take a step back, some people do absolutely need micro management. Love the delegate to develop, I like it I have a particular member of my team who aspires to be a TM but can push back when I delegate tasks that would help her gain skills in this area, but I like that I can say its part of delegate to develop, to build her confidence, e.g to speak up about something in team meetings. Thanks for this

Thanks, Mike. I appreciate your wisdom here because empowerment is something I'm learning to develop. Especially "Set the parameters" and "Delegate to develop" which seem obvious on the surface, but I'm learning are so much more than that. Kudos!

That is how it is done. Criticism has to be given when it's positive or negative. It has to be honest, but it also has to show that you respect the person and their opinons. After all, we all want to be valued.
