Walter Hendrik Gustav Lewin (born January 29, 1936) is a Dutch astrophysicist and former professor of physics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Lewin earned his doctorate in nuclear physics in 1965 at the Delft University of Technology and was a member of MIT's physics faculty for 43 years beginning in 1966 until his retirement in 2009.

Lewin has received awards for teaching and is known for his lectures on physics and their publication online via YouTube, edX and MIT OpenCourseWare.

Edit: this comment blew up I guess. All I wanna say is, this is the POWER education holds. Different languages, same passion. Media is sh*t nowadays, especially in India. This is a historic moment. An Indian teacher is being recognized and appreciated by so many people. Sir will never promote himself but he has us. We have to shower our love and appreciation for what he's doing for millions of students without any greed. As many evil companies are trying to sabotage this platform we have to be by his side as a support system. And this is a big slap for them for saying our Sir is an incompetent teacher. He deserves all the recognition, support and appreciation.
