The team and experts head to Llancaiach Fawr manor, near Caerphilly, South Wales, to investigate an ancient moat. The team's geophysicists feel the site should provide them with the ideal conditions to determine what the ditch was originally designed to guard - but the project soon becomes one of the most baffling investigations in the programme's history.

22:26 You don't always get an opportunity to have archeologists dig on your property, you do always have time to grow more grass, I'm always glad when people don't care about tearing up the lawn for a bit to let these guys dig.

I wish these were at least a week long. I can’t get enough of British archeology.

Thank you for all your comments pointing out the rather glaring mistake in our titling of this episode. In our defence, we've licensed 250 episodes of this wonderful show, so it was bound to happen sooner or later. Look out for the episode about The White Queen soon, and we hope you enjoy The Mystery of the Manor Moat!

That's a really insightful comment at 7:25!!!! Nice houses are always built next to older homes through out history

Tony: you are one of my heroes! Your comedy (your whole body of world, truthfully) has felt like sunshine. It’s funny ridiculous yet real. Some days I’m Edmund others I’m baldrick... yknw? Thanks for what you do! And thanks TIMELINE! You rock too!

So exciting. I love this stuff! I once had a coin from France dated 1371. A shame it was stolen.

Thanks so much for this! Anything with Tony Robinson is always going to be an interesting adventure! Lol! Love it thank you! Also my last name is Robinson too, but I'm in Indiana U.S. I wonder if long down the line we were kin! Maybe my long lost awesome cousin!! Lol! Probably not, because there are so many of us Robinson people, but still a cool thought! Lol!

With that old stream bed running thru the field, I wonder how they filled the moat? I wonder if they carved a ditch from the stream to the moat?
