This camera is using the iCatch V50 Chipset and the Panasonic 34112 Image sensor with a field of view of 170 degrees.

My favorite resolution on these V50 cams is the 2.7K 30 because it had the same bitrate as the 4K so way less compression noise. Nice to see that this one has that option - I was disappointed the MGCool Explorer 3 which this seems to be is based on did not.

I also kept getting the two buttons mixed up, in my mind they were backwards and record should have been on the outside.

This camera does support an external microphone. It has to be tge Akaso mic, specific for this camera. It works very well and is only about $10.

Hi Alex, I like your videos. So far I watched about ten of them and all are very good.
In this review you did not mention that you can adjust the FOV (field of vision) between 70 and 170 degrees. I think that is an important feature of this camera. You could have also mentioned that the camera is able to reduce the distortion (fisheye effect), which is nice to have when you take photos. Anyway, keep up the good work!

This camera is great! The picture quality is fantastic and I'm so glad I decided to buy this instead of a super expensive GoPro. It works the same! I am a scuba diver, and I love that this camera has a special dive mode. The camera came with plenty of accessories included in the box, and it even came with two batteries! Most cameras don't come with all of that included. I'm very happy with my purchase.

I have bought the camera mainly for motovlogging, but I am not impressed at all. I have tested vs my old SJcam M10 and I was disappointed from the video quality. I was recording both in 1080p 30fps and the old M10 has better details and far more natural colors. Also the audio with the external microphone, allows a lot of noise inside the helmet. The v50 pro records better at 4k, but this resolution has the problems of storage and slower editing. Also my model (Mar 2021) has a usb type-C port, and the ability to record at 1080p 90fps.

I've been through 2 Akaso V50 Pro Action Camera's in less than two months. Thankfully their customer support is 5 star so far and have worked with me on the replacement. With this last camera crashing in the same manner as the first they have just reached out with a refund for entire order of both and requested that I return them after seeing my photos of corroded batteries and compartment as well. Both reached a point where they wouldn't turn on. I am not convinced the waterproof case leaks, but its more of a condensation issue. Inside of case fogs up to the point you can barely see the camera inside. I've read that this is due to the heat the camera puts off when working inside the sealed waterproof compartment. Makes since. Either way, this camera isn't waterproof. AT ALL. I dive in cold water conditions. fyi...

Yes, you can us an external mic with this. It cost about $10.00 and works great!

Not sure if firmware upgrades had change since you uploaded this but it does support external microphone now but uses native mic as left channel and external mic as right channel or vice versa. I just detach native audio in post and double up mono external audio
