Whenever somebody says to me "im oldschool" im already doubting him cause if there's a better and easier way it makes no sense to not adapt to it, besides the person being stubborn and unwilling to learn new ways. I havent seen anyone use wire nuts in years and years here and if i come across wire nuts i replace them and toss them in the bin.

I love the TOH videos.. Learn something every time. I’d really like to see a video where you wire for pot lights drilling through floor joists in the ceiling. I’m planning to do that with a flexible drill bit at my house. We’re installing 8 of the new wafer thin recessed lights in our living room ceiling. It would be great to see someone do it. Kevin, you and the crew are welcome to come down the North Fork of LI to video...quick ride on the ferry. Just LMK.

what many don't realize is when pushing in the 4 connector tabs you actually have to bang them up to lock in. Seems like he did it here good job. Otherwise can might fall out over time.

This is so old school, they got new ones now that don't even need cans.

You don't need to cut the quick connects. Just because "OLD FASHIONED" dude says so. For LED's they handle the load, no issue. The screw on wire nuts, let go and often fall out of connect. The NEW, push in type connectors do not let go.
