I can only give my personal thoughts regarding Java Edition.

The "Microsoft will block our accounts for no reason" thing is brought up a heck of a lot when it comes to discussing Java account migration, to the point where I've been raising it as a common concern from Java players.
I'm not personally convinced it's a reasonable thing to worry about (imagine if an Xbox ban could block an entire country's government from accessing their Microsoft services...) but because it's raised so often I'm echoing the concern where it's relevant.

I personally don't want to see us getting into a position where we'd prevent Java Edition players from playing the game because of an account ban; perhaps blocked from Realms or other Mojang services, but I'd want us to be very clear about these circumstances too with no room for extra interpretation. If you're in a situation where you're blocked from accessing Minecraft Java Edition then you'd likely have something far more important to worry about than Minecraft.

As someone who has a VAC ban on Steam and still gets the odd random death threat messages sent to me every few months because of it, I personally don't believe cheaters "deserve" any punishment beyond losing their privilege to access servers that privately agree to restrict their access. Many will disagree with me, but to me cheaters are players too and they have the right to play a game they paid for in whatever way they want.

The above is my personal opinion and is not an official statement and does not represent Mojang.

Private servers should actually be, ya know, private?
Moderating a private server without explicit permission from the server owner is an invasion of privacy. Prove me wrong.

Minecraft is such a big and diverse game that it would be impossible to moderate without making a mistake due to cultural differences, not letting us appeal is just insane.

Microsoft: Anyways folks, time to link your Java with your Microsoft account.

Piracy: So anyways....

These rules are so vague that having no appeal system is absolutely insane. Such a nuclear option for rules left in such a gray area

Also apparently they policing written books so umm this command is a free ban now:
/give @p written_book{title:"Some hate speech", author:"Some dude u wanna ban"} 1

One additional note to consider in regards to Microsoft accounts being mandatory for the Java Edition:
because of politics, US companies are prohibited from doing business in certain regions/countries.
Microsoft is an American company. Mojang isn't.
And soon you'll be forced to use Microsoft's services to play the Java Edition.

Uncontestable bans? That is uncalled for. Minecraft is made to be a sandbox for anyone to do anything. As soon as someone has power over it, they will use it and fuck everything up. We don't give a shit about what they want the game to be, we want the game to be a place where we can all do whatever the fuck we want, and moderate it as we decide. They simply make the vessel for us to use.

So true, nobody should be banned for anything at all, unless they are causing true problems. I especially don't understand the "cheating and exploiting part" because that is very vague, and there are plenty of things that can go in those categories. I used to hack on hypixel, and hypixel banned me, simple. That is how I agree it should be a per server basis. All in all, this video was very accurate and it seems dangerous for Mojang to be doing this especially when it just isn't fair for the players.

Your solution is how banning used to be

I was actually affected by the mojang to microsoft account migration! I learned that if you played on the Technic Launcher you can still log into mojang accounts because it's not preventing mojang accounts from joining games, it's preventing you from opening them in the first place, however at some point I assume that thisll be taken out eventually

I hate this. Why would Mojang and therefore Microsoft go so far as to add banning to the servers? Would 2b2t be banned because it "goes against the game's spirit"? Some players like cheating, and while that may affect others experiences, servers have things to combat it IF THE SERVER SO WISHES. Let us make the decisions on our servers. Hypixel has Watchdog, others have mods and admins. We can moderate our own servers and multiplayer experiences as we wish. Leave us alone.

Just for anyone wondering, you can get banned from saying, a bad word, a slur, an offensive word, death threats, and just any word that the Microsoft team does not like. Remember don’t go on serves and spam stuff, what I’m doing right now is just not talking in chat whatsoever. Also don’t build anything inappropriate because that is a BIG reason to get banned. Good luck out there everyone!

sad fact: "You have no control over the thing you've purchased and it can be just taken away from you at any moment simply because some random person you have never met said so." also applies to physical stuff. E.g. Do not get confounded with a criminal or your devices and paperwork will be gone for a while. However, good quality video thanks :-)

4:15 Where did you find that quote? Can you verify that Mojang/Microsoft said that? Any source for that, none of the sources linked in the description show that quote.

it's ironically funny that I was banned for using inappropriate words but here's the thing I had a private server aka realm and I was turning it into a anarchy realm where anything goes but they banned me for 7 days which is annoying i pay for a private server. I have subjected myself to take them to court someone has to stop games from being a governed place I have a lawyer to try and take care of this problem it's gone to far.

Watch as most of the player base rebels. I’m surprised that they are doing this... since there are too many issues to make it non viable.
