Nicola Sturgeon has said the campaign for Scottish independence will remain “broad church”, as she dismissed a question over whether she would share a platform with Alex Salmond.

The First Minister said the issue of her predecessor was “one of the least important questions of the entire independence debate”.

On Tuesday, she and Scottish Greens co-leader Patrick Harvie released the first in a series of papers which will form the Scottish Government’s updated prospectus for independence.

Taking questions from journalists, the First Minister was asked if she would like to see a “broad church” Yes campaign as there was in the 2014 independence referendum and if she would share a platform with Alex Salmond.

Addressing the point about Mr Salmond, she said: “That latter one probably qualifies as one of the least important questions of the entire independence debate.

Sturgeon doesn't tell the Scottish people that more Scottish people voted for Brexit than voted for the SNP

After the 2014 referendum I thought it was all done and dusted. But the SNP just kept pushing and pushing and pushing. I got so fed up with the sword of Damoclese hanging above my head that I left Glasgow in 2021 and moved to England. I've spent the last year living without the constant threat and it's been FANDABIEDOSY!

The only reason that the SNP get in power each time in Scotland is because of all the freebies in Scotland. If these freebies stopped we would have a different government in Scotland.

If I was Scottish, I'd be incredibly concerned about my government's definition of "a generation"

During the 2014 referendum campaign Salmond and Sturgeon used the phrase “once in a lifetime opportunity” or “once in a generation opportunity” to define the political stakes facing the Scottish electorate.

words...as one would expect from an ex-Banker and an ex-Lawyer

The SNP only has to win once, the Unionists have to keep on winning.
Something she knows quite well.

She's asking for it because she knows she won't get it. If she got it she would lose!

My reply to Victor Clements, Aberfeldy. The Brexit was decided on a UK vote where 15.2 million English votes were a greater total than the number of people in Scotland, Northern Ireland, Wales, and Scotland all added together.

In effect, England outvoted the rest of the UK, which, to get a decent remain margin, would have all had to vote remain. A 38% minority in Scotland voted for Brexit. That was all it took to give it a slim majority across the UK. Add the Welsh and Irish Brexit vote, and you only got 2.2 million Brexit votes from the rest of the UK outside of England. That gave you a tiny 1.9% UK-wide majority. Scotland will not need an independence referendum, for we will use the General Election as 2019 proved that Scotland can not influence who gets in power in Westminster anyway.

Scotland will use the General election for Scottish Independence and return 57 out of 57 Scottish Nationalists and Pro-EU MPs to Westminster.

A massive 74.9% of the Scottish Electorate in 2019 rejected the Conservative party, yet England gave Boris an enormous first past the post 80 seat majority in the House of Commons. One more reason Scotland will not dissolve this rotten union where only England can do what England wants and deliberately and knowingly make Scotland over 10% WORSE OFF as a direct result **
