Best Travel Guide for GILI ISLANDS - Gili Trawangan, Gili Meno, Gili Air

If you are considering traveling to gili islands in 2022, I've created this detailed travel guide from my last trip to Gili Islands. We have been spending 3 night between Gili Trawangan, Gili Meno and Gili Air.

We took a fast boat from Bali (padang bay) and arrived in Gili Trawangan where we booked a beautiful place for the next 3 nights (nero north hotel).

The first day we have explored Gili T. and found out that most of the businesses were closed and this was a surprise as Bali opened officially its border to international tourists and therefore more people are going to visit Gili Islands in this time.

On the second day we booked a snorkeling tour early morning which took us to 4 most important points where to snorkel around Gili Islands.

1) Underwater Statues (GILI MENO)
2) Blue Coral (GILI MENO)
3) Turtle Bay (GILI TRAWANGAN)
4) Underwater Bikes (GILI TRAWANGAN)

The last full day in Gili, we decided to visit Gili Air. So after breakfast we took a small boat to Gili Air and spent the day there til afternoon. Gili Air is a true paradise but super dead at the moment. Very few places opened and white sand beach with blue azz water all for yourself.

In the afternoon we came back to Gili T. where we watched sunset and tried the outdoor beach cinema at Aston hotel. It was cool!

Next morning we left Gili and came back to Bali. I have to say Gili Islands are fantastic but I was a little disappointed to see that most of the places where closed despite many tourists are starting to visit the islands.

I came here in 2000 (23 years ago!) Nice to see its still beautiful. Kind of sad how much it has changed. Particularly cost. Accomodation used to be $7 a night with breakfast!
Looks like there is a lot of coral damage too.
Strange to see all these modern cafes with all Western restaurants. None of that existed when I was there. You had a handful of diving schools and restaurants.
