YORU LORE (UPDATED 2024)

Yoru's Lore is incredibly fascinating as it's centered around his past ancestors who were samurais. Trying to uncover their secrets, Yoru spends a lot of time on Icebox where an old samurai ship is located as well as Yoru's dimensional drift mask which he took from there.

I think Omen asking Yoru about the pieces he leaves behind is more about Omen wanting to understand his own abilities, as Omen probably feels like he leaves pieces behind when teleporting and wants to know if Yoru feels the same thing when he teleports.

Fun fact before yoru was released the chamber on the icebox was not broken and it contained a mask u can see that in many videos that were before yoru was released❤

yoru leaves blue marks when he teleports. there was once a photo of an article in valorant universe where they questioned weird blue fragments (idk how to interpret it) that were left behind by yoru. he does have a kinfe collection at his home which you can see in one of valorants short videos

also good to note that, even if its just a cool gimmick, if you have the oni knife equipped, and you use your ult as yoru, the mask he pulls out is actually the oni mask

Thanks to the Abyss map, some skins are now cannon, so people like Magepunk's inventor and Oni's forger were real characters in valorant's universe.

And the Easter egg recolor of Yoru's mask's gets when he equips the Oni katana seems to be enough to link together than the forger of Oni's katana is one of Yoru's ancestors.
Seems small, but I think this should be a relevant lore point

He claims that there were "dimensional scarrings" on S22 (the site where the ship is). It might be because it's from another dimension. That's partially why his codename is Yoru which means "Night" much like in his ult where it is always dark, like night time. What if they were somehow able to get the entire ship in the dimension Yoru is using and his ancestors are still somewhere in that dimension but lost because you can't see without the masks and would also explain why Yoru says "This ship didn't come from Japan". It might be because it's from another dimension. That's partially why his codename is Yoru which means "Night" much like in his ult where it is always dark, like night time.

The ship on Icebox may belong to atleast some of Yoru's ancestors and they most likely used it in the so called "Yoru" or "Night" Dimension but due to unknown reasons now the ship is here and the ancestors is nowhere to be found yet Yoru claims there are voices. The ancestors might still in be Yoru's dimension but lost bc those masks that Yoru uses actually lets them see. Infact there is a chance that his ancestor's might've crashed the ship while in the Yoru dimension, the ship along with the radianite filled samurai armors got out but the ancestors somehow got lost.

The same way that Omen asks Yoru if he feels pieces of him left behind, wouldn't that mean that at 4:15 someone like Yoru, probably his ancestors, had rift-walked too much that they left part of themselves behind in the rift when Yoru heard her voice?

9:10 Is it possible what omen means by pieces is how u can still kill yoru when he is in the middle of teleport and was asking if he can feel if someone's touching his back if someone actually did when he is in the middle of teleportation

Bro forgot about omens shadow dimension and in his ult he can exist as a shadow while his body is in the shadow dimension his shadow is similar to cloves ghost form and astras astral body when she hovers over the map and Omens regular tp is similar he exits the real world and reapears through the shadow realm

I see him so much though, to the point that I learnt specifically how to deal with Yorus instinctively.

It's like my hs% goes up against Yoru because they keep pissing me off
