This was my submission for May's Anim Challenge, the theme was "Character Presentation" and I thought it would be fun to test some 3D/2D integration!
Oh also I decided to use Punpun as the character because why not

Hey yall! After two years of silently reading all the comments I just wanted to thank you ALL for the feedback, words of encouragement and discussions about the manga itself! If this video made you discover oyasumi punpun u probably have some sort of absolute mad brain disorder rn, and for that I apologize.
I have seen some comments about the ads popping up, I am a complete 70 yo malfunctioning person that will try to take it down. YT please chill it's only a 8 second clip.
Anyway, thank you for all the support! I've been away from social media for about 2 years now and maybe some day I will come back, if I'm ever able to cope with the anxiety it brings to my life. I've been here, anonymously, only not posting.

Yknow, I used to think that the framing and perspective in Punpun was impossible to adapt properly to animated form, but after seeing this I think if a director decides on a specific tone that doesn’t have to be identical to the comic maybe it can work. Great stuff 👏

I love the animation synced in with the drums when as the camera moved through the eyes and then showing the final pose and I think the drum roll just fits with the reveal of it’s many eyes you know
