The BEST way to retract electric brake calipers should you not have the scan tool required. In this video I use this method on a Lexus 2018 with an electronic park brake aka E-BRAKE, I show you how to push the piston back in to replace your rear brake pads and rotors if needed, this is the fastest and easiest way to do it in a DIY style, make sure to use the park brake multiple times after to recalibrate the piston to brake pad distance.

Good video. It's nice to see you get straight to the point. Not waffling on for 10 mns before actually getting down to the job at hand. Like a lot of other ppl on here.

Great video. Can you put up a link to that portable power source and those connectors?

Great tip much thanks. I prefer the old school cable brakes especially in a emergency for control. Lost my brakes on the hwy years ago and was able to get back home just using the hand brake. This would not be possible with today's modern e brake system

Cheers Gerard, looking at doing rear pads on Mk7 golf so this video landed at ideal time. Stay safe.

Are you saying you have to do this in order to get the brakes, and rotors off? Or can you remove the epb while still connected?

Title says no special tools required. Video shows a special tool to hold the pad side of the actuator in order to unwind drive motor. Not so helpful.
