Has anyone ever found foxfire in winter. I live in indiana and i believe i see some in the trees. It's the coldest night of the year on christmas night its 12* degrees outside and i can see quite a few dots glowing with one big spot the size of a baseball maybe slightly smaller. i dont know what else it could be. Most of what iv found say its around damp wood and not in the winter any help would be appreciated.

The fungi are using what they have absorbed from the atmosphere. Minuscule nuclear reactions using what's been collected from the air around them.
