I'm about to put my old dog of 14 years down within the next 3 hours, and all I can do right now is sit on my bed and cry. I can't think of a moment in my life where he wasn't in it, and it hurts to know it's about to be the final moment I'll be able to remember with him. Listening to this song just has me thinking back on the greatest times I've ever had, with him being in nearly all of them. I never knew it was possible to cry this slow, with each teardrop taking minutes to travel down my face. I guess you'll never know what you have until you don't have it anymore.

I always stop what I'm doing to listen to this dude. The lyrics are ALWAYS hitting home. Whenever I hear Beneath Oak Trees, or Coal, I belt it out loud with me sounding like a wounded cat in a blender, but I don't care. They're just some of them songs that have to be sung.

Me my wife and my 5 year old are going to see dylan in a couple months and I just know I'm going to be holding my son thinking about my fleeting time as a child listening to this song, and wondering about how to give my kids the best authentic childhood that builds character. So many kids are struggling in this fast-paced media world, and I don't envy them at all.
