Ingredients:-
½ kg. Mutton
250 gms. Potatoes cut into fours
3 large Onions
6 cloves of Garlic
2” Ginger
2 large Tomatoes pureed
1 tsp. Turmeric powder
1 tbsp. Tamarind paste
1 tsp. Sugar
2 tbsp. Oil
Salt, to taste
1 cup Water
Coriander leaves to garnish

For Masala Paste:-
1 tbsp. Poppy seeds
1” Cinnamon
4 Cloves
15 Black peppercorns
1 Black cardamom
1 tsp. Cumin seeds
4 dry red chillies
½ cup fresh coconut, grated

Method:-
1. Grind the onions, garlic and ginger to a paste.
2. Heat oil in a pressure cooker and add the onion paste and fry until golden brown.
3. While the onion paste is cooking get the masala paste ready. Heat 1 tsp. oil and roast all the masala paste ingredients and grind them along with the coconut and keep aside.
4. Add the tomato puree to the fried onion and cook until the tomatoes change colour.
5. Add turmeric powder, salt and mutton and stir fry in the masala for about 10 minutes.
6. Now add potatoes, ground coconut paste, tamarind paste, sugar, 1 cup water, salt and cook until done.
7. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve.

Mouth-watering Aloo Gosht is ready to eat!

cooking time of mutton and potatoes is far different, try my recipe
Fry finely chopped onions 2, until light golden, add garlic, i use cloves, 15-20, add mutton, salt to taste, red chili 1 tea spoon haldi 1/8 tea spoon, 1 piece cinnamon, 3 cloves, 1 black and 1 green cardamom, zeera 1 tea spoon, 2 cups of water, pressure cook it for 7-8 minutes, reduce water and add 1 cup yogurt, 2 tomatoes peeled and pureed, 1 table spoon ginger paste, dhania and zeera powder 1 tea spoon each, cook till oil comes out and gravy is DANE DAAR, add peeled potatoes fry for sometime, add 1 tea spoon garam masala, 5 cups of water and simmer for 15 to 20 minutes, add green chilies, I use whole as it is easy to throw out before serving but flavor is there, serve with fresh coriander and ginger, sprinkle garam masala .
