He nailed it. I'm thinking specifically of medic Irwin Wade played by Giovanni Ribisi. I think he definitely had the look Spielberg was searching for.

As children, we are far more soft foods than in the 20s and early 30s, and this gave us softer faces. Look at pictures of people from that time. Chewing chewier foods works our teeth and the muscles and bones of our jaws and faces more than soft foods, and we need to chew chewier foods longer, too

The film was so real that most actors are in their late thirties, only a couple seem to be around 28 at most 😂 i'm not capable and never will be able to understand why this movie is so popular and "real" after reading at least over half a dozen history books about WWII, watching documentaries, interviews with vets and stuff like that.

Tom Hanks was too old they're all under 26 most of them if he was army he's would those days he would have been a major or a general at 42.

Yeah just make them all a decade older than they should be. Im so tired of this. Boys fight wars in real life but men fight them on screen. A infantry captain would be 25-30 and Hanks is in his 40s.
