What Exactly Did Anakin Teach Ahsoka? In episode 5 of Ahsoka, we see Anakin teaching Ahsoka through the World between Worlds, but what exactly did Ahsoka learn before she left the realm? When Anakin cuts the platform below Ahsoka, in the World Between Worlds, she is sent back into the clone wars, and the first lesson Anakin tried to teach, was that Ahsoka had to accept she wouldn’t be the typical Jedi, that had controlled the galaxy during the era of peace. But with Ahsoka still struggling to accept the reality of war, Anakin would be forced to teach Ahsoka again at the Siege of Mandalore, and his conversion to Darth Vader, was to teach her the difference between life and death. When Ahsoka defeats her master in the World between Worlds, she learned that she couldn’t be soulless, and hold onto the past, regardless of the trauma of war, and needed to show she was the padawan of Anakin Skywalker. Anakin did exactly what he said he was going to do, "finish her training". The final task for a padawan in becoming a knight is the "trials" which so far appear to be confronting the dark side of the force. We saw Luke do it twice. He failed the first time on Dagobah and succeeded the second time in front of the emperor. He was prepared to sacrifice his life for the good in his father. Rey confronted her dark side legacy twice as well. She didn't understand the meaning of her trial in the cave on Ahch-To, however she was not afraid of it either. Ultimately her trial came when she rejected her legacy as a Palpatine in front of her grandfather to embrace the light. In Ahsoka, Anakin was the darkness Ahsoka had to face. The master she loved, turned evil and she had to face and confront that. By besting Anakin and chosing NOT to kill him has she had been trained, she finally learned what it meant to be a Jedi. Mercy, compassion, "life", not war and death.
