I like the part where he compared and contrasted them to show the difference the tools made

"So what do you think"
I got no idea. It's kinda why i asked in the first place.

I liked the part where he showed the difference between using those tools and not using them.

Bro would never ever make a control espresso with cheap stuff and do a blind taste test cuz it might invalidate everything on this Channel 😂

"This tool works to declump the coffee"
Next scene: clumps the coffee.

I like the logic of breaking up the clumps to then press it all together (essentially making it all one big clump)

I would call it too much, but I can’t knock a man for enjoying his hobby. If all this makes you happy then I am all for it my man!

I think these tools are more for the experience than the taste. I can see something zen about meticulously creating that shot of espresso.

Why does this give off vibes of that one vid where the woman is explaining why she packs her own packages while sounding like she’s about to cry the entire time

That creme looks amazing omg. Just watched the one with the frozen ball as well... just perfection.

"So what do you think?"

Idk, YOU TELL ME

You don’t need all those tools. I work in a coffee shop and all we use is the tamper ( thing that levels out coffee grounds) We don’t use the metal mesh or the weird little thing with metal pieces thing out of it.

What you're saying makes sense for why it might make a difference but you should try a blind taste test of a few cups each with one less tool used

Something Ive learned is what espresso "looks like" doesn't matter when it comes to taste.

Probably the quality of the grains makes much more difference but sometimes we do things because it’s cool not because it’s functional

At the very least, proper tamping is a necessary step in getting good espresso. It makes a huge difference.

They’re cool gadgets, but the only thing out of them you actually need is a tamper, especially in the coffee industry when a lot of the time it’s based on speed and efficiency
