I was looking at setting my truck up like this, but I ended up just doing an electric cutout right after the headers on my Y pipe instead. The full system is AFE headers, Magnaflow cats, single 3” off the Y back to a Vibrant 1103 muffler. Not too much louder than stock at idle/cold start, nice little rumble under WOT with the cutout closed, with the cutout open it sounds like a Pro Mod lol. 5.3 LM7 w/ LS1 cam.
She really likes running with open headers; it knocks a solid .2-.3 off the trucks 1/4 mile with the cutout open vs closed.

I'm 3 years late to the post but, I'm debating getting this for my colorado, how loud is it closed compared to stock?

I want to do something like this. Would you say it's louder than stock when the valve is closed? Is there variability in how open it is?

Is the muffler the chrome oval muffler? If it is this is a good video giving me an idea how it will sound on my car.

did you install the electrical parts or have a shop do it? i’m thinking about getting either varex or valvetronic mufflers
