Please please please give feedback to ‘Car & Driving’ that Toyota use an E-CVT which uses planetary gears & electric motors. NOT belts & cones CVT.

How many times are you guys going to keep saying the CVT is driven with a rubber belt.
The CVT is a planetary gearset and absolutely indestructible. Ive seen them with half a million miles no issues. Automatics with clutch systems have issues with reliability and overheating in stop start traffic.

Belt driven?? Such a fundamental error deserving a short follow up video

The CVT in here is an eCVT with a planetary setup rather than a "rubber belt" as mentioned at 6:26, correct?

Did you say belt rubber belt driven? You already said bigger motor
What else did you get wrong

So many errors in this review. How did they pass this off and upload it?

Rear suspension is double wishbone and not multi-link.

Gearbox is not belt-driven cvt and is an E-CVT with planetary gears.

I own a 2020 Touring and it has space for a spare tire so I guess the 2023 model also has that. And the E-CVT is just wonderful and nothing like a beltdriven CVT!

No other channel is as comprehensive & pithy. Great review.

At 6.23 presenter suggests replacing eCVT with dual clutch transmission. It is shows amazing lack of understanding of how Toyota hybrid system works. eCVT is hart of system. If you replace it with dsg, it wouldn't be HSD any more

Look there's no point in trying to tell people again, it will outrun any other car and still be going strong in 20 years time. Ford focus will be scrapped by then. I would get one but still running my old avensis

I've just had a ride in this car for an hour as a taxi journey because my car is loud to drive. I suffer from Hyperacusis so wanted a quiet journey, Unfortunately, it was not a comfortable ride for me, the car suffers from elevated levels of road noise and it was probably louder than my own car. The rest of the car is ok, but this is not a quiet cabin. The sound got up to 81db on an A road when I measured it, windows closed, no aircon on. Cabin insulation is quite poor, I could feel quite a lot of vibration though the floor. This problem is compounded by the UK government, who could make our roads smoother and more quiet by resurfacing with close knit material, (no cost difference) instead of this rough large cut bitumen you find everywhere, but apparently they did it to slow people down?? It didn't work, people drive the same, it just made life, living by roads and journeys more

This review contributed to my decision of ordering a Corolla, currently waiting on my max trim 2.0l hatchback!

Unfortunately Toyota said they won’t be offering the Corolla Cross in the UK.

Road Sign Assist does not work reliably - known problem which Toyota can’t fix
No electrical heater windscreen
No auto locking doors after driving
Hold switch has to set on every drive and only activates after 3 second brake or you drift forward
DAB radio stations cannot be put in alphabetical order
Radio and speakers do not have an upgrade option in UK. Basic speakers across range
Hardly any storage in front cabin or boot

Nice car! I had a 2019. Was a great drive and efficiency was around 64mpgUK. One gripe I had was the engine would charge the battery when going up a hill 😢
Id take one of these facelifts any day over other hybrids.
The only negative is the high BIK compared to ultra cheap EVs

In that segment, the Honda Civic E:Hev is a better all-round proposition in my opinion. That is, if you don't care about the 'Touring' format, and want better space at the back. But hey, having lived with estates and their advantages, I went for the Corolla 2.0L Touring. I just don't see the point of the hatchback though, too many compromises.
