It does seem odd that in an entirely PvE game they are taking the approach of nerfing good/fun weapons rather than buffing the less fun ones to make them better options. Hopefully they will strike a balance in future

The one dev they got rebalancing needs to play the game on difficulties higher than 6 rather than just having their shit spreadsheet where they see a weapon get too many kills and nerf

Let's be real, if the Quasar cannon is going to have a 15 second cool down then the charge for the shoot should take half as long

It's all the fault of Alexus Kravchenko, the guy in charge of balancing the weapons who is infamous for ruining Hello Neighbor 2 and has managed to fail upwards his way into Arrowhead studios.

The guy has an ego bigger than the studio and sucks at his job.

How about canonical buffs/nerfs. If the changes made some sense maybe the community could get onboard. Being OP can’t be canonical unless the automatons are making our guns or something. However say we lost the planet where the superior munitions are manufactured results in debuff and vice versa. Then you could give some control back to the community and give an interesting context to the change. Nerfing guns just because the community likes them or because they were introduced in a OP state is becoming unbearable for many.

It's not great that a PvE game has very few guns worth using in high-level content. Give us a power trip! The Bugs and Bots will still find ways to overrun us.

The Liberator that does medium penetration only does 45 while all the other rifles do 60 and up practically making it redundant. They seriously need to buff it up to 60 too or at least 55

Weapons aren't the issue I'm having, it's the sheer quantity of bugs. I was playing some easy missions to try and farm super credits and was getting overwhelmed with dozens of hunters and scavengers spawning from 2 breaches.

I know there's the Meridia super colony and the bugs are breeding extra fast but like holy shit bugs are less fun to fight than bots now, especially when a hunter can leap 80 yards and 3 hit you with stun locking attacks.

I knew this was the approach since the RAILGUN. How is it that a gun is too effective so you make it shitty to balance it against everything else not being effective choices. If it's meant to be fun and tough then balance requires buffs and nerfs to make the variety of weapons feel viable in it's role.

The issue is the bots have too many Medium armor guys and the options for medium armor pen weapons always have handling issues as their main take away.

The other issue is that the more large enemies, the more heavy weapons needed to kill them. No high difficulty enemy has anything less than heavy armor and can kill players in one hit.

Maybe instead of looking at how many people are using said weapon see the lower weapons used and improve on them for a little bit then if people don’t change the playstyle try the loadout for yourself then see why they like it and try and apply it to lower tier weapons its a difficult thing to master but if done correctly you can balance out the tiers more

It's a non-competitive game nerfs shouldn't exist, if the devs want people to use all of them or their favorites buff the least used in particular manners whether that be making them pen armor better, more damage to soft spots, decrease recoil, increase mag size or increase damage. It's a simple formula on that part. I also heavily dislike the balance teams decision to single out players who play by themselves. I get that was done due to people easily stealth soloing to get super samples on 7-9 without doing the main objective however now I can't find a match between difficulty and fun now without going to difficulty 3 which removes a lot of the game element and different enemies I used to regularly play 6 but that feels like a helldive sweat fest now. If you're not wanting people to grab samples and then extract without completing the objective then make difficulty 7-9 harder in general not just for solo players. It feels like a forced "go play with your siblings" kind of thing right now.

I was gonna get the new war bond but all weapons seen so underwhelming. The guns that are too strong definitely need nerfs, but there's also guns I never see anyone run, like the dagger. They definitely need to rethink the balancing otherwise our efforts against Sony will have been for nothing
