I remember watching this as a new episode. I blew up when I saw this at the end of that episode. I thought we'd never see him again after the last time.

Context that guy is the first person Rick saw in the first season and the first episode, Morgan and his son helped Rick to get on his feet until Rick eventually left insearch for his son and wife, Rick gave Morgan a radio saying that he will talk to him every night, however his radio breaks on the 1st night.

SPOILERS:

Rick later finds Morgan living alone in an abounded gun store without his son and with his radio and he says that he waited every day and every night for his response, he goes a bit cray cray, as Rick takes guns for his group (prison) since Morgan had a lot of guns he didn't use. Blah blah blah, a few years later, a lot of characters die, Rick finds Morgan and Morgan is back in his state of mind, and this time he likes peace and doesn't like using guns.

Even more context, he wiped mud on the sanctuary place (Which is literately the most disturbing place that scarred during the TWD Universe) since at Terminus they literately cannibalized on children and other people by tricking them into thinking there was sanctuary, and at Terminus Rick basically lost half his group to the cannibals, and its literately all on camera, they basically like gutted them and like drained their blood and shit, theirs even more disturbing things in that scene, but rick survives and other main characters also survive but most, if all non important survivors die.
