We own 1/4 of a mountain here in north central Washington state. Our close friends own the other 1/4 of the mountain and behind our properties is national forest.
When I want to “get away from it all” I simply hike up our property to a flat area, and get into a small “cabin”. I make sure to take bear spray and a side arm as we have a bear who lives on the SW area of our mountain. The flat area is on the NE area. We have a lot of mountain lions around, but the fire keeps them away. So far I’ve never had them come close enough to me, but one can never be too careful.
The cabin is basically a 1 room space with a small wood stove to keep warm at night.
