Reviewing Travel Trailers at the Hershey RV show is like inspecting fruit at Walmart. There is a lot of crap and once in a while there is a good one. We found some good ones, and we saw a lot of questionable ones. Prices were so varied for such similar models. And the "Show Discounts" showed how much you should really pay for these boxes on wheels. More on the Webpage!!

Thanks, enjoyed the video. Most 12 volt fridges out there are energy hogs. Mass produced with no concern about ultimate energy consumption. I settled on an Isotherm 2.3 cu unit to replace the 3-way in my a-frame camper. They were made for boats and you see them in van builds. That was an Isotherm fridge is the Tab 400 in your video. They're high quality and up to the task. Mine draws between 3 and 4 amps when running. Solar easily keeps up. Works in the desert and works in the mountains. Cheers!

The Barefoot is the CUTEST THING. I'm in love. 🥰

Hi, Rick! Just got back from 3 days at Elkmont in the smokies. Here's a little "real world" 12 volt frig info for you. My Shasta has a 12 volt, 11 cubic foot EverChill frig in it. At home, I plug it in and it takes less then 2 hours to cool down and uses about 11 amps on that initial cool-down. After that, it takes anywhere from 4 to 8 amps to maintain that cold level but that's only when the compressor is running. Depending how often you open and close the door determines how often the compressor runs. I do have 400 watts of solar on the roof and carry a small generator. I have 215AH of batteries and they will run down close to half their rating over night but we also had the heat on too (about 60 to keep the chill off because the night temp was around 40). We were in the sun and did not need to use the generator on this trip except for the one time we used the microwave. If you're in the shade or cloudy day, you'll need the generator. Hope all this helps a little with your decision on what to buy in the future. BTW: All RVs are made like crap. Trick is to find one that's not built like diarrhea. You don't want to be pouring money in one end and out the other.

Great synopsis... too much to absorb in 15 minutes, but your commentary was spot on!! Doesn't sound like you are getting rid of your A Liner for a while!! Bon Voyage!!

I know your looking for an RV under 4K and under 300lb tongue with that said an RV salesman told me the average RV owner after getting their rig adds another 750 lbs.of stuff so keep that info in mind. After seeing all the new 12 volt fridges on the market I wouldn't even consider a 3 way RV fridge. I feel 12 volt is the way to go just my 2 cents!

Hi. I’ve been looking for nearly a year and I ended up ordering a Camp-Inn 550 teardrop. I think much better engineered than any of the large RV companies. My limitation is weight as my tow vehicle is a Jeep Wrangler. 200 tongue and 2000 weight. After camping this year and talking to family members, it seems to me that cooking inside just is not done too often. So for my use case a teardrop will work. Of course everyone has their own needs. 😊

I agree with your comment on the window a/c. They drain outside on the wall and don't breath good. Aliner does have the best Idea on how to install one.

Thank you for looking at the Springdale RD (my dream camper) and pointing out the AC issue and tongue weight. Yup, I watch Catherine Gregory, Slim and also Josh's RV nerd. I'm looking forward to seeing what you purchase. I think I just have to have an aliner though. I'm more worried about something easy to pull. Have you seen any Bushwhackers? Willing to cook outside is a plus for you. Thanks again. I look forward to your videos.

Was the last one the one that you liked best? My neighbors at the campground showed me their TAB400. The build quality sure looked good. Don’t forget to do a “fit” test with Akela before you buy? (Just kidding but it made me wonder, do they allow pets to go along inside at any of the dealers?)

I didn't know you were looking for a hard side. You know I was looking for a hard side when I stumbled onto my Rockwood A213 HW. The only thing I might like is an indoor spritzer shower. I've got a nice shower tent and a big pot with a battery-powered shower. I bought mine used and paid under 12K. I have since added 360 watts of power and two battle Born's. Mine had been lifted at the dealership by 4". I don't have the darn Domers.

Of all of them I would go with any of the nucamp tab trailer, they aren’t cheap but much better quality then all the others

Suggestion For what it's worth. I sold my Aliner and built a camper that fit my needs. I started with a cargo trailer. Mine was a 6x12 at 1500 lbs before build. I'm pulling it with a 4 cyl Chevy Equinox. I would love to see you build one, and what you put in it. Mine has a shower and fold down door for wife's wheel chair. I can send you a video if you like.

Actually, I would want a compressor fridge. Near everyone I talked to had their 3-way fridge fail and needed $1200-$1600 repairs. My parents had to fix their Dometic twice and still it did not keep a constant temp. Adding a bit more solar and 2nd batt is cheaper. Don't know where you get 15A/h. Most users say about 4AH or less (80 watt running 1/3 the time/).

The workmanship is pathetic on nearly ALL of these campers and the pricing is ridiculous considering the loan payments may outlast the camper itself. Nearly $50K on that last one. No thanks! It has to be all fiberglass or all aluminum for me…Bigfoot, Oliver, Casita, ATC, Snoozy II, or Livin’ Lite.

Don't like any of these, Ill stick with the Aliner
