The USA Olympic men’s basketball coach Steve Kerr called the assassination attempt on former US president Donald Trump a 'demoralising day' for America highlighting a dangerous gun culture.

Kerr said 'It’s yet another example of not only our political division but also our gun culture, a 20-year-old with an AR-15 trying to shoot the former president. It’s hard to process everything and it’s scary to think about where this goes.' USA point guard Stephen Curry called for tighter gun control following the news. He said '[It] invokes a lot of emotions around things that we need to correct as a people, obviously gun control first and foremost'.

The fact that they are focusing on gun control and not on what happened to President Trump is alarming.

These guys need to look in the mirror. Your refusal to go to the White House when Trump was President contributed to the divisions in the country you are representing.

This is the same person that refused to go to the White House to greet Trump when they won the championship.

I don't believe anything that Kerr says. He has said so much that it's pathetic to pander now.

🐘 the Republican Party has literally created its own self demise in everything it has enacted over the decades prior all the way up to this point in time.

It has a tragic inevitable implosion, That’s why I left that party behind and I’m an Independent now. I did not want to participate in that current cultist culture and destructive behavior Enough is enough, it’s sickening and demoralizing to witness what’s going on with todays GOP 🫣
