This is actually great advice. I usually do end up checking those sale emails. I also think it shows you a notification in the client

Yeah that's how I buy like 90% of my games I hear about a game throw it on my steam wishlist and wait for that email

Even if just 1% of those buys the game then, that's 1, 500 copies sold, which is feeding back into Steam's algorithm.

I’ve had Town of Salem wishlisted for about a decade. They definitely still email me every time it goes on sale 20% 😂

Someone else commented something similar on another post, but every time I watch one of these, it’s like I happened to walk into a business meeting right at the good important parts.

I work in a small hospitality venue in Australia that caters mostly to 60+ seniors. When we do an advert via email it goes to all present and past members who haven't unsubbed - usually only around 2.5 - 3k.
We have a statistically noticeable uptick in business/sales/calls for whatever it is we're promoting EVERY time we do this.

I can picture the scale of an email going out automatically to 150k+ people who have taken at least a snippet of time out of their day to actively wishlist your product would be phenomenal.

That makes a lot of sense, and I never really thought about it, but yeah. I've never seen one of my wishlisted games tell me when it's 15% off. I have to manually go to my wishlist to see that.

That also why steam offer a good deal. 10% don't seem like a good deal but 20% is something that can make you change your mind.
So, steam encourage to do 20% for this notification.

I have bought 3 or 4 games due to these emails. I specifically wishlist games I want so when they go on sale I can see the email and buy them if I still want them. Very guud tip.
