When you talk about your Dad, it usually makes me cry. I can almost feel the love in your voice. I always think of my Dad and miss him a little more when I hear one of your stories. My relationship with my Dad was always amazing, except for a few teenage years. With that said though, from your stories here, your Dad's love for you is just the same as my Dad's for me. People just have different ways. You're so blessed to still have him.

I wish I was even around my dad enough for him to be like this. We don’t have a bad relationship but it’s strained cuz we barely see each other cuz he and my mom aren’t together and he lives in his own house with 2 jobs. And when we I see each other it’s hella awkward cuz we barely know each other but at least he’s always been there for me when I or my mom needed him to be. I wish I could have a stronger bond with my dad but he has 5 other kids (yes 5) and he’s a busy guy. He’s not a bad dad in any sense of the word but he has his own little ways of showing affection and I love my dad for that. He always tries to be inclusive when he takes me and my sisters to go places even though he HATES spending money lol. But I guess what I’m trying to say is that I wanna be around my father more often and I want us to get to know each other better, that’s all.

I can relate to this because I didn't have the easiest or best relationship with my father. I would be barely open up to him but when I decided to get divorced, he was the quiet pillar of support I never knew I needed. He never questioned my decision, stood by me, helped me move to a new place and file for divorce. Thank you daddy for being there for me in my toughest moments.

I also have an Asian dad and though he isn't like my mom who will always say I love you, I know he loves my siblings and I, and he just shows it in a different way.
