You know why Woodrow Wilson and Franklin Roosevelt made so many EO's? They both happened to be president during World Wars, and Roosevelt also had to deal with the Great Depression.

You can't slog around and wait for Congress to ratify something when your executive order could be a major step in ending the depression.

actually the president can not inact acts of war unless congress gives them permission to do so, the war in Afghanistan was allegedly an illegal war according to our Constitution because permission of Congress was not even asked. the president is even less powerful than this video makes it seem.

Good thing we voted in Trump. Can you imagine all the bullshit Hillary would of done? The world would of been fucked.

I really like how you stick to the facts and don't go down any path of arguing one side or the other. Good job!

The president of the United States isn't exactly a dictator. If he/she were to do something that were unconstitutional or just disliked by the people, congress could created a bill that could overrun what ever the president did. The president can veto this but with enough votes in congress the veto can be overrun.

Wait, did you say the UK has division of power (separations of power) and the US doesn't?

Sorry, but the president doesn't
have that much power.

Having a British person teach people about U.S. politics is like having someone from the U.S. explain the Sovereign of the United Kingdom A.K.A. Queen Elizabeth

you glossed over the fact that congress can deny a veto by the and you make it sound like the president can do whatever he wants, when the president can do almost nothing without congressional approval.... even sending troops after a certain amount of time he needs to declare (congressional approval) or pull back

A lot of this is misleading. While he isn't wrong in describing the power of the President, he can and often does face powerful opposition, even if his political party has the majority in Congress. The opposition party can filibuster in the senate, effectively stopping any legislation proposed by the majority party and the president. Any executive action by the President can be challenged in the courts. Any federal judge (they don't have to be Supreme Court justices) can file an injunction and effectively stop ANY executive action taken by the President. Since it usually takes a period of 6-8 months for the Supreme Court to reconvene and act on a federal injunction to a president's executive order, it is an effective tool to significantly slow down the process since a presidents term in only 4 years until they have to run again. Also, the citizens of the USA can override the entire Federal Government by adding a constitutional amendment to the constitution. You would need 35 out of the 50 states to approve a constitutional convention. Perhaps the most important thing limiting the power of a president is opposing from his own party. Establishment Republicans are against many of the policies proposed by Trump. Also, there are countless powerful political organizations ready to sue Trump for any infringement on people's rights. Also, any party in Congress can file for impeachment proceedings.

Don't you pretty much have to be rich for those more stable countries to even accept you?
