This is a bit of a new format for me. Let me know what you think and if you want to see more! :D
Have you had wild lion's mane before?

Excellent technique.
Unlike vegetables, mushrooms do not get soggy when boiled.
We collect tons of H. Abietis in WA, but very rarely can we find H. Erinacius.

I think a lot of people severely undercooked mushrooms! I also cook mine until most/all of the moisture is removed when I Sautee, but I've never thought much about getting the delicious looking golden crust you showed 🤤

That looks amazing! I love mushrooms now but as I kid I felt exactly as you described. Many years of eating mushrooms in a similar fashion here has created my love for them.

Thats awesome! I grew a bunch of Lion’s Mane last year but never thought of boiling them before frying! Thanks 🍳 🍄

I think mushrooms will end up less slimy if they are cooked while still fresh. If they get too old in the fridge they get spots, get slimy and have an objectionable odor. The white button and brown crimini ones anyway.

I'm so happy to see the love mushrooms are finally getting, I'm 24 and have been exposed to the mushroom culture since I was 13 thanks to my dad. We as a society need to stop depending on big pharma and start taking care of ourselves and mushrooms are the best first step you can take.

I used to hate mushrooms as a kid. Then I learned how to cook & discovered I freaking LOVE mushrooms, I just hate *steamed* mushrooms because they’re slimy as hell (for that matter, most steamed vegetables are slimy and gross… I’ll never understand why steaming food was such a health fad back in the 90’s.)

Hmmm, I wonder if I could do something like this with the dehydrated morels & chanterelles I have in the pantry.

Honestly same I was never a fan I slowly began to like them and then once I got into mushroom foraging changed the game completely now I love em especially cause so many kinds and flavors and textures and now I rave to people about how awesome mushrooms are and that’s coming from one the most picky eating kids growing up to now I eat wild mushrooms and plants fruits from the woods 🤣

Dude perfect loop 🎉 also this is awesome because my husband has the same issue with mushrooms but he has such a vast knowledge on mushroom foraging while im more comfortable with identifying plants lol. We just haven't been able to mess around with actually eating them because we've been in not ideal foraging areas for work for the past few years, but when we get a chance I will definitely try cooking them this way =)

I add a splash of soy sauce when they're almost done, and a little garlic if i want, and its heavenly

Looks banging. I dry fry shredded oyster mushrooms like this, wait until virtually all water content has been evaporated and then add in spice, then oil. Gets them super crispy and perfect for a hoisin/bbq glaze 🤌

20:17 it’s not the fact that she’s copying the life hacks itself— i think it’s because in the example that’s shown, she’s showing each life hack in the exact same order as the original tiktok. so while sharing facts/life hacks you’ve learned isn’t necessarily copying, it’s clear she’s copying the formatting of the original content.

How many calories can you forage per day/can you sustain yourself only from foraging?

I know how to forage mushrooms, some leafy greens, and very few berries and nuts. I always felt proud for that but thought that we are so used do extremely calorie-dense human-grown food and there's no way I could survive long term out of just what I can forage, so I wonder what could a pro like you be able to rack up in terms of calories?
