Cyberpunk 2077: CD Projekt Red and Nvidia are shady. How do you get gamers to upgrade?

Let's talk about why this game is so graphically intensive and demands the latest hardware (without supporting older hardware). To all my Pascal friends, it is safe to upgrade!

This is my opinion of course, but I provide examples to back up my opinion. Let me know in the comments your thoughts on Cyberpunk 2077 the game, and also what the performance of the game is like for you.

If Nvidia wants everybody to upgrade, shoudn't they have some hardware available to actually upgrade to?

I agree. 2:03 The real system requirements for 60 FPS are scary.
Low settings are still too demanding, in my opinion.
Is there a way to set the "ultra low" settings from config file?

I don’t mind a game makers aiming for the stars, like CDPR did with CP 2077. To that, CP 2077 needed more time to bake, esp for the base consoles.

Just want to point out that it runs like trash on high end hardware too, even my 3090. There are some config files you can change to get a lot of frames back though. They involve telling the game that it's allowed to use all the cores on your amd cpu and allowing it to use more than 3GB of vram and system ram. Even then you can't get a good framerate at 4k ultra unless you crank DLSS up to performance where it looks like a noisy VHS tape. (I guess that adds to the cyberpunk immersion, right CDPR?) Blows my mind that AAA devs don't know how to edit a config file properly before release.

The hardware unboxed email trying to shape their editorial direction, because they favor raster performance and did not praise RTX enough is proof enough of this, they cant wait to phase out older generations. Developers saturating their games with filters and graphics option and locking or forcing graphics options into their game killing performance on cards that are not even 24 months out is irresponsible.
