I clean our water bowls a couple of times a day. They're supposed to be clean enough for a person to drink from.

My indoor kitty Suzie before she passed away I cleaned her food and water bowls before bedtime every night with hot soapy water and gave her fresh water to last her 24 hours. I sure do miss her 😢😿 My outdoor kitties I rinse their bowls every other day and fresh water.

My cat came with little cold sore type things from drinking/eating from dirty dishes. Always use a clean plate and clean his fountain regularly

i dont onw a cat myself but the neighbours cat is always coming by and drinking water from the plants coasters and watering can. he wont even wait until i get some fresh and clean water from the hose. but he is happy with it. he is a 95 % not indoor cat (i feel my main job is protecting the birdies from him all day) ^^

in my house we have a big bowl with water and all our animals drink out of it (I have 3 cats and 4 dogs)

I switched to stainless bowls and i would clean and wash them everyday but the fountains you have out out should really help cut down on the germs

We use a small water fountain thing for our cat to drink out of it, not only is it more healthy because it has a filter but cats prefer moving water bc it’s Luke drinking in the wild from a river. We change it every week or so

I use glass bowls and clean it at least 3 times a day.

for fountains you should clean them every 2 weeks and switch the filter out monthly!

We have the fountain type. My hubby cleans it out twice a week. Then the cat drinks out of this low birdbath by our porch. 🙄 That gets hosed out daily, right before the cat goes outside.

I clean the water bowl of my cat every week if I don't forget (actually, I just replace the water and don't clean the bowl). Also, everytime, I mean everytime, there are junks floating around in the water but he is good about it - if he doesn't like the bowl water, he drinks from a rain puddle. What do you think 😊

Strange I use our plates in our bowls and just give them a new clean one every time they eat

I change my cat's water once a day. But I think I'm going to switch to a metal dish as I have a plastic water fountain now. I also give them bottled water though I don't know if that makes a difference.
