The Biggest Plot Twist in Bleach! #Shorts #Bleach #Anime Ichigo realizes his greatest enemy has been with him this entire time, as during the end of Bleach in the final arc we start to realize that there’s something Odd about the spirit of Ichigo’s sword, Zangetsu, we’ve gotten to know over the course of the series. Despite the fact that Zangestu was Ichigo’s mentor and helped him a lot over the course of this journey, it was always weird that Ichigo seemed to have TWO spirits inside of Zangetsu unlike anyone else that has one. Eventually we find out that this is because the Hollow Ichigo is the REAL Zangetsu, but the other robed man, is actually a manifestation of the quincy powers hidden inside of Ichigo thanks to his mother, with those powers and her protective instincts merging into a being that would continue to protect her son, while taking on the form of her king. Eventually we saw that Ichigo had to decide between which of the Zangetsu’s he’d keep and since this one wasn’t willing to let him take all the power he needed to get the job done it ended up fading away after a bit of a battle, however I really liked this mystery from the original series and this blew my MIND reading it when I was growing up, but what do YOU think about that foreshadowing?

Old man zangetsu didn't fade, he just merged with hollow zangetsu

I liked that when Ichigo asked his quincy side's name, it was blacked out because at that time Yhwah's name had been sealed by Ichibei.

You could even see it all the way back in soul society when Zangetsu gave ichigo power to fight kenpachi

White was telling Ichigo and us throughout the whole series and we were like "Nah Old man zangetsu is the real one".

Its one of those scenes that foreshadowed in such a way that it was literally in your face. It wasnt subtle at all about it, and thats what made the mystery and the twist that much better. Because if you've ever gone back to rewatch the entire series you can see literally EVERYTHING

this is absolutely my favorite twist in all of the manga I've read, because learning that Yhwach has been with Ichigo since the beginning was just wild. The thing is though if you also look at it White also likely knew too, and this is probably what prompted his King speech

Yeah he did not fade he simply merged with Zangetsu so that Ichigo can access all three of his bloodline allowing him to be one of the most powerful beings in his verse although with that said without aizen he would never have existed.

To everyone saying that it wasn't planned and was just a retcon

- in the training with the visored, white openly says "I'm the real zangetsu, not that guy", and even at the time there were some theories that White was the real Zangetsu because of that scene
- White also had a change in the dangai training "but he was just looking like that because Ichigo used the vast lord", ok, but he also was wearing the bankai robe and holding the tensa zangetsu, instead of the traditional shinigami suit and regular zangetsu that he was wearing when ichigo entered there using the shikai, white literally changed by activating the bankai, in the most literal sense possible
- when Ichigo was fighting Zaraki the old zangetsu said "I'll stop your bleeding" ability never shown by any other shinigami, ikkaku needed a special ointment to stop the bleedings from his fight with Ichigo, the ones able to control blood, and stop bleeding, are the Quincys with their "Blut"
- when Ichigo was trying to awake his shinigami powers with urahara, the old zangetsu said "gather the reishi particles in the air under your feet to create a plataform to stop your fall" but that's not how Shinigamis walk in the air, shinigami walk in the air by concentrating his reiatsu and shooting through their feet, the ones who walk in the air like that, and the only ones able to control reishi, are the Quincy

Plot twist was amazing just wish we got more of ichigo using his Quincy powers after the revelation in tandem with his shinigami hollow powers to show he’s accepted both sides of himself

There's this filler arc in the anime where this guy enters Ichigo's spirit realm so he can fight Old Man Zangetsu to mess up Ichigo's soul. When he's summons the spirit White spawns to fight the guy.

I wonder how popular the White is his true zanpaktuto spirit in the early 2000s (or how much time Kubo spent in the writing room)
