I'd really like to hike this trail. Last time I was in the area was to visit a buddy and we got out a little south of Tahoe near Blue Lakes. Did some camping, fishing and a little hiking. I went out there to visit after he was diagnosed with ALS to get him into the mountains. It was his last time and that was just 5 years ago. He has since passed but I will never forget our time out there.

Going to be a good series. Sorry about all these CA fires we are having. I'd be fishing those lakes for sure.

Part 1 in the books, onto Part 2. Finally getting a chance to watch, been down to Ga and around the Smokey's while you were making your way around on a Rim. Good show so far!

Great video. Sucks about the smoke. But looks like a great start to the trip. Love the tahoe rim trail. Can't wait to see more videos.

Great Video!! I’m live in the area and hike my butt off. Did my first backpacking trip last summer than the fires hit. I can’t wait to get out there this spring and summer and do some section hikes. What is a pizza Margarita? What’s in it? Looks yummy. I loved how you were honest about the elevation and how it hits the lungs. Totally truth!! So excited I found your channel. Can’t wait to watch more abs connect! Maybe I’ll see you on the trail one day. 😃🏕

Great video! going to watch the rest of the series. I've done the JMT in 2021, the HST in 2022 and I'm slated to do the TRT this July if all works out.

This one looks good. I just saw the StarLite episode. I have to go to hammock right now but hope to get back...yea those wild fires.

Was out in Cali last summer & could hardly breathe. I like that area too.

What was your favorite two sections if you did not say? Did you find that trail box by that radio tower above Nevada State Park..Snowmass Peak or something?

That is one of my favorite areas. I got a good shot of Morrorlit Lake (sp) over L. Tahoe with a storm & rainbow.

Some stiff ground up there with few trees but found a place to hang: moon over distant Carson, Sundusk over the other side.

The Desolations were good too. Steep that Eagle Trail. Walked all the way back to town, hammocking in the woods. Met a really great gal at the Ranger Station & we caught an Eagles Concert other side of the hotel fence line.

Strung up my hammock there: better than the Hotel California while listening to the Hotel California...great hang.

Still have the audio someplace.

Great video aside from the loud music volume. Must be nice to live close to a great area like that.

High altitude sickness is nothing to play with. Hiked with a guy from the mid west this summer on the Jmt and he got it bad. Had to push the SOS button on his garmin.

That landscape is worth the weight of the extra camera gear. Who brought the drone?

The Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit, in addition to all other National Forests in California, is closed.

The LTBMU includes all Forest Service land in the Tahoe Basin in both California and Nevada. This essentially closes the Tahoe Rim Trail. Additionally, the California Tahoe Conservancy and Nevada State Parks will be closing Van Sickle Bi-State Park starting 9/9/2020 at sunset. This closure includes day use, overnight use, recreational sites such as beaches and picnic areas, campgrounds, work projects, etc. This unprecedented step comes in the wake of wildfire activity throughout the state. Please make plans to leave the forest to comply with this forest closure. Use of the TRT in the Spooner Backcountry is currently open but users may not cross USFS land to access the park. This means the TRT Spooner North access to the Spooner Backcountry is closed.

Yes! Tahoe trails for thine victory! Thank you sir for this most needed field trip.

Aside: Mark, did you experience that crazy cold weather in OK?

OKC experienced its coldest temperature of September 8 to date, shattering the cold record high by essentially 10°F.

You really need to arrive a few days early to acclimatize!
