It makes complete sense to me that you’d return to Greece regularly. I go every year for the summer, same island for the bulk of it, same beaches when I’m on that island, for ten years now. For me it’s that white light, crystal blue sea, miles of bougainvillea, olive trees, basil, lavender, and the sound of cicadas and waves. It’s time to leave when I feel like I could float back. When people ask what I do all summer I say absolutely nothing but it involves countless cappuccinos, glasses of retsina, and my weight in olives.

I'm Asian American. I love going to Greece for the food (super underrated), out of this world architecture and scenery, islands etc. But also the friendly locals. For Europe, apart from France, I think Greeks are the nicest Europeans that I've interacted with. They always asked me how I enjoyed my trip and I always got free desserts or small snacks at hotels, restaurants etc. They're super hospitable people and always smiling. Just like my old Greek landlords in Astoria, Queens, NY.

Love your reasons for loving Greece. Another thing you should've mentioned is the VARIETY you get in such a small geographical area. There's rugged mountains, there's plenty of forests (the dry landscapes are only in the Aegean islands and far south mainland), every type of beach and coastal scenery imaginable... all made possible to enjoy by a long, dry, clear summer season (6 months or so). Also, with the longest coastline in the Mediterranean and infinite history, Greece is the whole package. And if you want all of that on one island, it's gotta be Crete ;)

I LOVE Greece! The whole vibe and experience there is just SO authentic, fun, and meaningful. I've been there many times over the decades, but when i'm home back in Ohio, I often think of all my experiences i've had in Greece, and I cry tears of longing (and joy for having been there)! We try to make it there at least every 2 years or so, especially now that my teenage daughter can appreciate her heritage (have brought her there thrice so far). My grandmother's large stone house, built by hand in 1910, is still standing in her gorgeous mountain village (above Nafpaktos)! Still has the spacious rooms, with original hand cut and sanded wooden floors, and the ceramic roof last replaced during World War 2! And the family crest cornerstone with the date 1910 is visible by the upper corner of the front facade of the house! By the way, we LOVE your channel and your commentary! Rock on!

Hi Gabriel and everyone. Gabe has explored India (Bharat) like 13 times and he loves Rishikesh. He knows his stuff about India. I have gone to India (Bharat) twice and will go back again despite the many hardships that are there. I really love the spiritual vibes I have felt in Rishikesh, Varanasi, Jagannath Puri, Pushkar and Varanasi plus the serenity and beauty of the Parvati Valley in Himachal Pradesh. The only city I've enjoyed in India was Mumbai. The other places I have visited I can do without returning to them.

Hi Gabriel, I always think you will one day become a Greek citizen. Even the geography makes sense, it's right smack in the middle of Europe with easy access to all parts of Europe and Asia.
