An NHL franchise’s name and identity means absolutely everything. The name, colors, jerseys and overall feeling that fans will associate with their favorite team. As the new Utah Hockey Club is now finding out, getting this right is crucial. Today, we take a look at how other teams across the NHL approached this daunting challenge.

The Utah Miracle makes sense and ties into the history of Salt Lake City referring to the Miracle of the Gulls when seagulls miraculously saved the 1848 crops by eating thousands of insects that were devouring their fields.
