I had a 19 Impreza sport. Always complain how slow, noisy it is. But drove thru a 1000km round trip during snow strom few week ago. Man, its a beast in the snow.

Why does the engine sound so loud? It sounds like an already old car.

That CVT is great until you push it and starts fake shifting. I've never experienced anything more irritating than a Subaru's fake CVT shifts. Subaru engineers had the brilliant idea of taking a technology that can give you the exact amount of power you want from the engine and put it to wheels smoothly and without interruption, and then specified operation that interupts power, induces shift shock, and briefly kicks the engine out of the power band.

And the gas pedal is too touchy, rant over.

Are there any real benefits of a boxer engine versus an industry standard inline 4? I've never really heard any good things about boxer engines and it seems like Subaru is putting them in just because it's part of their history.

I was wondering what is the backsound of the engine? Its sounds like a turbo, but the car dont have it. Is this the CVT working?

It is a nice car except the cvt. I really wonder that why Japanese cars still use cvt. There may be comfort driving but definitely far from driving pleasure for me.

When it comes to design, the Japanese stopped in one place. Tragedy.

cvt and slow compared to competitors. jerky feeling, lag, etc.. paired with AWD horrible MPG compared to vehicles in it's class.
