This is part 1 of an extended 3 part tour of the brilliant Babylon 5 mod for Civilization IV Beyond the Sword.
CONTENTS:
PART 1
- 0:00 Introduction
- 4:39 Tour of all the B5 races/factions
- 6:17 Delenn - Minbari Federation game start tour
- 9:54 First save game tour with Oracle Scout vs Raiders battle
- 13:24 Second save game tour with Hyperion Cruiser & Orbital defences vs Raiders battles
- 15:32 Third save game tour showing systems and B5 religions (eg will you follow Shadow Chaos or Vorlon Order?)
PART 2
- Third save game tour CONTINUED, showing more ships & the spiral galaxy
- Diplomacy screen tour
- Babylon 5 Technology tree tour
- Civilopedia tour of cool ships from later in the game (eg Omega, Warlock, Sharlin, Shadow ship, Whitestar, ISA Victory etc)
- Great wonders tour (eg build Babylon 5 or a shadow base!)
- My ideas on cool scenarios this mod needs (eg Earth Minbari War, great Shadow war etc)
- Final thoughts on just how darn good this mod is!
PART 3 - SPECIAL BONUS END GAME VIDEO
- Fourth save game tour showing high level end game ships (eg Omegas & Warlocks), Shadow & Drakh attacks, other major races and full galaxy.
ABOUT:
When the official Final Frontier mod came out with Civilization IV Beyond the Sword people were blown away with just how different it was to normal Civ4 (earth became space, cities became solar systems etc) and it played a lot like the popular Master of Orion games. So naturally it wasn’t long before fans started modding the mod to their favourite shows like Star Trek & Babylon 5.
This Babylon 5 mod is utterly brilliant. You can play as your favourite younger race in a sandbox game researching technologies for your favourite ships and conquering the galaxy. I’ve been completely addicted to this for days now lol.. sleep what’s that?
Playable Shadows & Vorlons aren’t here yet and there’s no scenarios based on some of the great conflicts yet but hopefully one day there will be some. Until then you’ve got to conquer the galaxy and tell your own story. If you’re a big B5 fan who likes strategy games then I strongly suggest you check out this mod!
NOTES:
- The mod’s soundtrack is amazing (all your favourite songs from the show) however I was forced to turn it off and play crappy old midis due to youtube copyright issues.
- THIS PROJECT NEEDS YOUR HELP! If you're a B5 fan with artistic or C++ skills please visit their forum & offer your help.
