I can wait, but I won’t wait! I will be taking mine at age 62. The future is too hard to predict.

Waiting until 70 age. Win-Win-Win. Earning money now, can wait (WIN). If SS goes belly up & is not available when I reach 70, I'll have the money that I continue to earn/invest separate from relying on SS (WIN). If I die before reaching 70, my family inherits well & I'll be with Jesus (WIN).

I've waited and am 8 months from FRA. Glad I waited, and with the new admin coming in Jan, I'll take right away!

If you took SS at 62 and didn’t need it, so instead you invested it… wouldn’t that exceed the roi waiting?

I waited till 67 ….
I got $700.
Then the Soc. Sec. Sent me a letter and said they over paid me … they stopped my check and my husband’s too.
Soc sec sucks.

My problem with this is if you're making only say 35, 000 a year working. And you can take early Social Security at 62 and make 23, 000 a year over that you get from Social Security. Then why not take it early because what happens if you don't live to 70. Then you didn't get any of the benefits of being retired.
