I don't think skins or the Battle Pass really have anything to do with that. Being nice and having a grand meme-ish time could lead to experiences like this in pretty much any time period or chapter. I remember skybasing in both Chapter 2 and 4 and having a duo follow us up there to emote with us and have fun... Sweats will always exist but Memers will always persevere...
