Work continues on the 1982 Suzuki GS750E Rescue. In part 7 I have reinstalled the carbs, changed out the front brake master cylinder, and I'm focusing on getting the cosmetic aspects of the bike back into shape. I am polishing the aluminum cases, cleaning chrome and doing some touch-up paint work on the frame. Let's get to work!

Just sold mine a 79 gs750L very clean and fast . The boy was looking for one. He was the first person to see it and bought it in sight. We are building a 900cb Honda . It will be my new rider. Just wanted something tamer as in my Sixties I just want smooth .

Hey Jon, excellent job on the ali. I'm jealous. I'll have to work harder on mine to get that shine.
Def a pain doing the buffing on the engine. My knees don't let me do that so I take the cases off and use a bench grinder with buffing wheel to do mine up and then the little drill attachments to finish the bits the buff wheel had a hard time reaching.
If you want to seal your work, lean your bike against the shed away from the case you want to do and remove it. That way the oil doesn't spill out.
Find out from your local paint guy what clear coat is able to take a bit of heat.
Other thing is maybe you are lucky enough to live away from the coast so that the wind doesn't carry the salts.
I live 80kms/50m inland and I get slow salt corrosion happening on my bike

Looking great Jon! Still cant get over just 2600 miles!
So after you polish the clear coat off, how susceptible is the aluminum to corroding again say after a rain ride?
